Barbara Panter, Ann Whitley, and Jan Smith are The Rosin Sisters. Three fiddlers, three friends, three women who love to play and sing together. They will be featured during the Sunday Gospel Jam and will participate in the Comparative Fiddling Styles workshop and the Harmony Singing workshop during the 2009 Bear on the Square.
They each have been playing traditional music in the Atlanta area and beyond, including appearances in and around Dahlonega, or many years -- Barbara with Hair of the Dog, Ann with the Peavine Creek String Band, and Jan with The Tune Dogs.
While singing with an all-women a capella group known as the Divas, Barbara, Ann, and Jan decided to form The Rosin Sisters to further explore their love of singing and fiddling, especially the rich heritage that comes out of the Appalachian and Southern regions of America. They are also available for concerts, parties, and other celebrations.
