Barefoot Creek
barefootcreek3With an early Grand Ole Opry sound, the girls of Barefoot Creek are the closest you can get to sister harmony without being kin. Local songbirds Sarrah Ellen McDonald and Tonia Conner take a hold of a song and make it soar. From traditional unaccompanied ballads to foot-stompin' old-time tunes, from the honky-tonk to the church house, Barefoot Creek is bound to leave you wantin' more.

For years, Barefoot Creek has been heavily involved in the preservation and promotion of traditional music and culture in the mountains of North Georgia. Both gals are educators with the Lumpkin County School System and have been a part of the Georgia Pick & Bow program, passing along traditional Appalachian music to the children in their mountain community.

Never missing a chance to sing on tailgates and front porches, in chicken houses and around campfires, Barefoot Creek has become a favorite at regional festivals and venues such as Bear on the Square, Murphy Heritage Festival, John C. Campbell Folk School, Clay's Corner, Strings 'n Things, The Chicken Shack, Amicalola Concert Series, GAHA Coffee House and The Mountain Music and Medicine Show. Barefoot Creek will be joined on the Bear on the Square MainStage by their longtime lead guitar performer, Jim Pittman, and favorite upright bass player, Jack Taylor.
