Singer/songwriter and area resident Barry Bailey started playing guitar at age 13 when his dad taught him the three-chord method. He now uses the guitar. mandolin, dulcimer guitar, banjo, harmonica, Native American flute, and bass guitar in his mix of country, Appalachian, alternative rock, old Celtic and Native American themed songs.
Of Irish-Cherokee descent, he said he strives to extend his roots back to the “Ancient of Days” and the powers of “The Four Directions”. Bailey does house concerts, shows and motivational musical/storytelling concerts for schools, churches and businesses, and he has performed previously at Bear of the Square and the HemlockFest in the Dahlonega area. He also plays native flute for weddings.
